We have built the Winscape Marketeer application specifically for marketing to passers by. We use a more aggressive Kinect driver to lock on to users sooner so that the change in window perspective will catch their eye and begin an interactive session with the viewer.
The Winscape Marketeer application splits a source video onto up to 6 connected displays according to the dimensions that you configure it with. After a configurable amount of time, Winscape Marketeer can display an overlay video on top of the source video in order to display some marketing information. It interfaces with a Kinect Sensor via USB for tracking purposes and it uses a more aggressive tracking driver to track users without needing a calibration pose. This way, Winscape Marketeer can catch the eye of a passer by and encourage interactivity.
Winscape Marketeer also provides a web service interface for remote control of scene selection, sleep, and shutdown commands.

System requirements are OS X Snow Leopard 10.6, Lion 10.7, or Mountain Lion 10.8.
*note that Lion 10.7.4 introduced a video performance degradation, so avoid it for now if you can*
Kinect tracking requires Xbox Kinect Model 1414. Winscape does not yet work with the newer Xbox Kinect Model 1473. You can identify the model number underneath the base of the Kinect sensor.
The overlay movie must have an alpha channel (transparency) or else it will completely obscure the primary movie. Movies encoded in H.264 do not have an alpha channel, so you should encode your overlay movie in a format like ProRes 4444 which does. Here are two example overlay movies you can use for testing or demo purposes.
Example Overlay 1080p resolution
The Winscape Marketeer application is trial-ware that functions without nagging for 30 runs. After 30 runs, text will be displayed on the screen with a reminder of the license terms.
Finding Winscape Marketeer useful? We are temporarily not accepting purchases of Winscape until we can work out issues with the new Kinect hardware and Yosemite operating system. Thanks for your patience.
